MOROCCO / MAROC
Marocco, Arrestation in Agadir of 9 Amazighs militant students
Mr Lhou, militant du mouvement culturel Amazigh
a l'université, arrété le 14 mars 2006 à Agadir par le pouvoir
marocain
We, the militants of the Amazigh cause in Beni Mellal, bitterly
denounce the arrestation of 9 students of the Amazigh Movement (Ayt
Ghighush) in the university of Agadir, Morocco. The latters wanted to
organise a cultural activity but they were insulted by the defenders
of the "Arab Republic of the Sahara". Our militants defended
themselves, however the Moroccan authorities arrested 9 of them and
did nothing for the other part.
This reflects again that Imazighen are the first enemy of
Moroccan regime. It is clear that the latter is encouraging this
imaginary republic because they know that North Africa is Amazigh so
they should create an arab entity on this amazigh land. Last month
they banned the Amazigh name"AMAZIGH" in Goulmima and now they
arrest our militants.
We admit and declare to the national and the international
opinion that we will go on struggling and fighting for our rights
and for the independence of our lands.
We require from the moroccan state
- to free our militans without any condition.
-to recognise Amazigh as official language
-to abolish the law which bans Amazigh names
-to insert Amazigh in every domain of the public life :education,
health,justice ...
-to integrate Imazighen socially and economically
We are ready to sacrifice our lives for our legal cause.
